We have a valuable full time, permanent opportunity for an experienced HGV & Plant Technician to join our dynamic Industrial Services division of the business, based from our Immingham depot, DN40 1QR. The purpose of this position is essential to the business to ensure our vehicles and plant equipment are available and safe for the business to use at all times.

As a HGV & Plant Technician you will conduct general workshop duties on our HGV vehicles and ancillary equipment, ideally applicants will have experience in maintenance of site plant equipment, vehicle plant and associated accessories. and have a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, with peer level reporting and support of the business the Mechanical Fitter role requires the successful candidate to be able to:

Fault find and troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques on plant machinery and vehicles with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Maintain all vehicles to the current MOT standards and keep all documentation and vehicle records updated

Service all plant to ensure it is working to quality industrial standards

Carry out mechanical repairs and improvements and electrical where possible

Work with and assist the Transport Manager

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workshop

Comply with Health and Safety requirements, following company policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of works etc.

Monday to Friday, (38 hours per week) with paid overtime to meet business needs

A positive approach to weekend working and call outs (paid accordingly)

Training and support will be provided, but knowledge, experience and understanding of the following would be beneficial:

A recognised engineering background with either Industrial Services, Heavy Plant, Light Commercial, HGV and the Transport Industry

Knowledge of working with Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps, High Pressure Water Jetting Equipment

Knowledge of relevant transport and plant codes of practice

A pro-active and creative approach to problem solving

Suitable qualifications and experience relevant to the role and a willingness to learn
