Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: On-site in Immingham
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (9 am to 5 pm or 8 am to 4 pm, depending on your preference)
Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our client's team. As leaders in the logistics sector with over 50 years of success, they are known for their commitment to excellence and innovation. The ideal candidate will have at least a Level 2 AAT qualification and be eager to pursue further qualifications, with support from the business. This role involves various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Banking & Reconciliation: Allocate payments and receipts, complete cash book entries, and reconcile bank balances to Sage.
  • Invoice Management: Process and distribute purchase invoices, manage customs invoicing, and oversee supplier payments.
  • Freight & Recharge Invoicing: Handle freight forwarding invoices and manage recharge invoicing.
  • Expense Tracking: Process employee expense reports and ensure accurate reimbursement records.
  • Budget Assistance: Support budget tracking and assist in preparing monthly financial reports for management review.
  • General Support: Order office supplies, arrange for maintenance services, and manage fire safety checks.
  • Reports & Statements: Reconcile supplier statements and maintain truck P&L spreadsheets.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 AAT qualification (or equivalent), with ambition to pursue further qualifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, ideally Sage 50.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
