Our client is seeking an experienced Fire Safety and Installations Manager to join their expanding team Alderley Edge. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing fire safety projects, reviewing and updating fire risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with the Fire Safety Act. You will oversee passive fire protection measures, manage the quality control of installations, coordinate job schedules, and work closely with subcontractors to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards. Familiarity with BM Trada and Farriss certification schemes is desireable, as is experience in supporting fire audits and inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and update existing fire risk assessments, ensuring they meet current regulations and standards.
  • Understand and apply the Fire Safety Act confidently in all aspects of the role.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with passive fire protection measures, including fire doors, barriers, and other structural fire protection.
  • Manage the quality control of fire safety installations, ensuring they meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Coordinate and manage the diary for all fire safety jobs, ensuring efficient scheduling and timely completion.
  • Liaise with and manage subcontractors, ensuring work is completed to the required quality and within agreed timelines.
  • Act as a supervisor during fire audits, providing support and guidance to auditors and ensuring all necessary documentation and evidence is available.
  • Maintain knowledge of BM Trada and Farriss certification schemes and ensure all work adheres to their standards.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for senior management, clients, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Keep up-to-date with fire safety regulations, industry best practices, and new technologies in fire protection.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a fire safety management role, preferably within the construction or maintenance sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the Fire Safety Act and its application in practical scenarios.
  • Extensive knowledge of passive fire protection, including fire doors, barriers, and other structural fire protection methods.
  • Experience with quality control of fire safety installations and compliance with industry standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills with experience in diary management and job scheduling.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage subcontractors and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with BM Trada and Farriss certification schemes is essential.
  • Experience supporting fire audits and inspections as a supervisor.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant fire safety qualifications or certifications are highly desirable.
