About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our commercial and project teams. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in quantity surveying while gaining hands-on experience in cost management, contract administration, and project financials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and managing project estimates.
  • Valuation of works using a schedule of rates.
  • Help record variations and assist in preparing and submitting final accounts.
  • Conduct site surveys and contribute to the Construction Phase Plan and Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Monitor and track project costs, ensuring financial control and reporting.
  • Checking completed projects and managing snagging lists.
  • Measure and review subcontractor valuations and assist in final account agreements.
  • Record and report extra works while keeping clients informed.
  • Attend team meetings and site meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Managing small projects, fulfilling QS duties under supervision.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in quantity surveying, ideally within Construction.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • A degree, diploma, or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred.
