We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of high-value contracts within the nuclear industry. These projects will involve both integration with existing control and instrumentation (C&I) systems and standalone, greenfield projects. The successful candidate will manage the full lifecycle of these projects, from Requirements Definition to ongoing support, delivering turnkey solutions focused on PLC/SCADA technology and safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage multiple high-value contracts, cumulatively worth several million pounds, from inception to successful delivery
• Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet client specifications and satisfaction
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams
• Take full financial responsibility for contracts, managing subcontracts for specialist works and supplies
• Lead and motivate a team of up to 30 professionals, including project managers, engineers, and installation teams
• Maintain compliance with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards in partnership with the Company QH&S Manager
• Regularly update clients through progress meetings and reporting
• Cultivate strong client relationships, supporting business development and the successful delivery of future projects
Essential Requirements:
• 5-10 years of experience in project management within E,C&I in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors
• Proven customer-facing skills and experience in managing stakeholder expectations
• Experience with NEC3/4 contracting
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiating skills
• Demonstrable track record in meeting project deadlines, maintaining margins, and delivering quality results
• Experience in subcontractor management
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams
• Must be able to obtain SC clearance
Desirable Requirements:
• Project management qualification (e.g., PMI, APMP) and/or approved training
• Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely)
• Experience with CEMAR
• Degree qualification in electrical engineering (preferred)
