Assistant Accountant

Your new companyHays are delighted to be working exclusively on behalf of a locally established, market leading organisation based in Aberdeenshire. This company has been successful in profiling themselves on an international level, as well as continuing to upgrade their facilities to stay ahead of their competitors. Due to a change in team structure, the requirement for a permanent, full time Assistant Accountant who is looking to progress their finance career has become available.Your new roleIn your new role, you will become a key member of the established finance team; reporting directly into the Finance Director and supporting in daily, weekly and monthly processes. This role will have a core focus on month end tasks including the preparation and posting of journals, accruals and prepayments; as well as developing your knowledge to support with forecasting, budgeting and preparation of management accounts. As part of the finance team if required, you will be happy to support in more transactional focused tasks such as ledger management, daily banking and reconciliations.What you'll need to succeedTo succeed, you will be a motivated finance professional who demonstrates a core understanding of transactional finance tasks and has progressed their career to managing month end tasks within a wider finance team. This role will suit someone who is interested in progressing their finance career, where study support can be provided, to apply their existing skills and knowledge as well as developing their experience in journal postings and the preparation of management accounts. You will be someone who is comfortable working independently as well as part of a team to meet strict deadlines and review processes that can positively support the function.What you'll get in returnIn return, you will be offered a competitive base salary of up to £32,000 per annum and generous company benefits that can be discussed at application stage.
