Electrician (Oil & Gas Industry)

Core Purpose:We are looking for a dedicated Electrician to join the expanding team of our client and assist with the coordination of electrical activities on-site, ensuring maximum efficiency and maintaining product quality. You will play a key role in ensuring that work is carried out as per procedure, liaising with managers and team members across various departments to achieve optimal results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Installation & Maintenance: Prepare electrical materials and equipment for installation. Commission non-hazardous and hazardous area electrical equipment, and ensure ongoing maintenance, testing, fault finding, and repairs of existing assets.
  • Coordination & Communication: Work closely with supervisors to determine and prioritise workloads. Provide regular progress updates to supervisors or team leads, ensuring tasks are completed on time and efficiently.
  • Health, Safety, & Quality Compliance: Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner in line with risk assessments and working practices. Report accidents/incidents in a timely manner. Comply with ISO 9001 standards, Company's Group's Health & Safety, and Quality Policies.
  • Off site & Offshore Work: Occasional off site and offshore work may be required, with full participation in HSE management for your area of responsibility.
  • Client Liaison: Work with clients, third-party inspectors, and surveyors to ensure quality standards are met and exceeded.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong technical knowledge in electrical systems with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to communicate potential project issues to decision-makers.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Calm under pressure with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified Electrician (e.g., SQA, City & Guilds).
  • CompEx certified (or country equivalent).
  • IEE Wiring Regulations certified (or country equivalent).
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred but not essential.
