About the Commercial Banking Associate - Agriculture

& sustainable approach to lending. Due to their ongoing growth the company now seeks a Agricultural Relationship Associate to join their busy thriving team.
Purpose of the Commercial Banking Associate - Agriculture;
The Agricultural Relationship Associate is predominantly home based and customer facing. The role is a critical part of the Bank’s customer service offering.
The Agricultural Relationship Associate will support the bank’s mission which is to create and grow a sustainable, customer-focused, and innovative bank that supports and champions the financial health of the rural economy.
The Agricultural Relationship Associate will be responsible for:
- Support Agricultural Relationship Managers to attract and grow a portfolio of quality Agricultural businesses via Savings and Credit based solutions.
- Work with Relationship Manager on farm and in the office to be part of the deal team for larger transactions in a supervised or unsupervised capacity where appropriate.
- Lead approved credit deals to execution through good collaborative contact with the Bank’s professionals network.
- Use good judgement to triage the referrals received into opportunities and distribute internally if required.
- Build superior relationships in the marketplace to fully leverage the Bank’s unique product offering.
- Help grow brand awareness by attending industry good events.
- Ability to support the writing of niche agricultural and horticultural credit & deals in a subjective risk-based assessment format
- Manage internal relations and build credibility with the risk department of Oxbury
- Complete annual credit & account reviews with a primary focus on existing customers with drawn facilities which includes but is not limited to annual GDPR consents (Marketing, data storage, SBI numbers, environmental categorisations) to a high standard
- Understand what operational, capital and reputational risks are and act accordingly.
- Interpret financial statements and budgeted projections across all production cycles and income streams pertaining to our target markets.
- Understand agricultural lending credit policy and LVR & profitability markers and benchmarks.
- Ongoing monitoring and management of conditions subsequent for existing drawn facilities
- Identify, manage and report on any early warning signs for deteriorating credit & risk profiles, credit scoring etc.
Skills of the Commercial Banking Associate - Agriculture:
- Agricultural/ Commercial banking experience
- Interpret and critique financial statements
- Ability to write & assess agricultural and/or commercial credit
- Excellent communication skills
- Rapport building skills
- Confident and self-motivated
- Resilient nature
- Full UK or equivalent driver’s license
