Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Dundee, Office based
Job Type: Full time, permanent
We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager role based in Dundee, working with a well-established civil engineering contractor specialising in infrastructure and groundworks projects across Central Scotland, including Dundee, Tayside, Fife, and Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee subcontractors to ensure adherence to safe working practices.
- Conduct quality audits and investigate non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Carry out internal audits and represent the company during external ISO audits.
- Coordinate occupational health and safety surveys.
- Identify and implement corrective actions from health and safety inspections, audits, and assessments.
- Report non-compliance and risk issues to senior management and support the resolution process.
- Collaborate with site managers to address health and safety challenges on-site.
- Conduct thorough accident investigations where necessary.
- Represent health and safety requirements in internal and external meetings.
- Monitor and report on the company’s health and safety practices and systems.
- Represent the company with clients and external agencies.
- Take a proactive approach to working with client counterparts to ensure projects are delivered to specification and safely.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications are essential.
- Experience as a Health & Safety Manager is essential.
- Experience working on civil engineering or groundwork projects is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to guide and support others to fulfil their roles effectively.
- Hands-on approach to promoting a strong safety culture both within the company and externally.
- Ability to meet company deadlines and deliver results.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
