You will be part of an experienced team, working from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Your New Role

As a Credit Controller, your primary responsibility will be to minimise bad debt and maximise profit by collecting outstanding amounts. You will maintain existing customer accounts in accordance with their terms and conditions, renew new credit account applications, handle general sales ledger queries, and deal sensitively with customers to maximise debt recovery. In this role, you will monitor and manage customer accounts, conduct credit checks and negotiate payment plans. You will also be required to work with customers to establish mutually agreeable payment schedules for overdue accounts and address and resolve any billing or payment discrepancies in a professional and efficient manner. A crucial part of this role will also be to stay updated on industry regulations, keep abreast of changes in credit control laws and best practices to ensure compliance.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you should have experience in a similar credit control position, providing you with a solid understanding of credit control processes and best practices. An excellent telephone manner is crucial, as you'll need the confidence to handle sensitive or difficult customer calls. Strong communication and negotiation skills are vital for negotiating payment plans, resolving disputes, and collaborating with internal teams. The ability to remain calm under pressure is essential, as credit control can be a high-pressure environment. You should be a team player who can also work well independently, with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all records. Problem-solving skills are important for identifying issues and developing effective solutions. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is required to manage accounts and generate reports. By bringing these skills and attributes to the role, you will be well-equipped to succeed and make a significant impact on the company's financial health.
