Firth is recruiting for a Production Assistant who will provide support to the Production management team by assisting and co-ordinating the maintenance and optimisation of all production processes and records.

  • Assisting with the planning of production on site with the plant production team.
  • Ensuring record are completed and kept up to date
  • Coordinating the ordering of safety and chemical supplies.
  • Assisting with customer blend processing and ensuring blends are updated on AX.
  • Liaising with all site staff to update and maintain risk assessments and plant procedures.
  • Assisting with the close out of customer audit corrective actions.
  • Liaising with all site staff to update and maintain COSHH assessments.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of ISO 18001, 14001 and 9001 standards.
  • Coordinating the training activities for all plant production employees.
  • Assisting the plant production team with general site operational activities.
  • Assisting the plant manager in dealing with any customer complaints and, in particular, helping to fully investigate and properly close out any issues.
  • Assisting with the preparation for customer site visits, audits, and inspections of facilities where necessary.
  • Carrying out trouble shooting projects with the plant production team to identify the reasons for specific problems and work with site management to resolve these.
  • Maintain and register site PPE stocks and issue to staff

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Previous administration experience, ideally gained in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be numerate
  • Strong IT skills
