Your new companyHays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting on behalf of a top 20 accountancy firm based in Inverness for an Accounts Manager. You would be based in a fantastic office with over 80 staff, but the role also offers flexible hybrid working. This is a client facing, fast paced role which includes advisory elements and often deals with high-net worth clients. Your new roleYou will be managing a portfolio of clients that operate in a range of sectors, reporting directly to the Partners and Senior Managers. The position would involve accounts preparation work, as well as one-off assignments and special work, as required. The work is varied and ranges from typical year-end compliance through to ad-hoc advisory and project work. The client base is a mix of sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, limited liability partnerships, trusts and smaller private charities. You will be responsible for managing the accounts preparation process. You will also be managing and monitoring progress of work and budgets, plus ensuring all work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will have proficiency in supervising and coaching qualified staff and trainees, plus liaison with tax team. There will also be opportunities to work on special assignments and projects.

What you'll need to succeed

Preferably ICAS / ACA / ACCA qualified and a number of years' experience of working in practice. You will have strong numeracy and analytical skills, along with the ability to learn quickly. A good knowledge of Excel and Word is essential. Knowledge of Xero, Sage, Quickbooks as well as CCH Accounts Production is advantageous, but not essential as full training will be given. Self-motivated and pro-active, with the ability to organise your own workload. Display a flexible, professional approach and have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with managers, partners and clients.
