Summary

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager on a part time basis for approximately 25 hours per week. This role is predominantly home based with the requirement to attend meetings in Inverness on a fairly regular basis and occasionally at short notice.

Purpose:

The successful applicant will ensure timely production of accounts, budgeting/forecasting and providing key financial information to support the commercial decision making process. Reporting to the Company Directors, you will have previous experience of working on an independent basis and presenting reports to drive the commercial development of the business.

Duties include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for all divisions of the business using Xero Financial Software.
  • Compiling and submitting financial reports.
  • Budget preparation and cashflow forecasting for the Group.
  • Liaising with outsourced Payroll Bureau to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Working alongside Accounts/Bookkeeping staff to ensure accurate processing and reconciliation of ledgers.
  • Overseeing sales ledger and credit control functions.
  • Overseeing all online banking operations and reconciliations.
  • Liaise with the Company Directors to provide financial advice and help to influence decision-making across the Group.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Take the lead on specific accounting projects and play a key role in mentoring Accounts/Bookkeeping Assistants.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance-related role.
  • Experience of preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Familiarity with UK accounting standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software including Xero accounting software.
  • Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with a range of contacts in a professional manner.
  • Capable of working autonomously and managing a varied workload effectively to meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Have or are working towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
