HSE Manager/ Advisor:

We are currently recruiting for a HSE Manager/ Advisor for a large SSEN transmission project based in inverness to start ASAP for a 6 month contract minimum.

Main roles and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning and Innovation: Develop and Implement environmental and sustainability strategies.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA): Lead and manage all aspects of EIAs, including scoping, baseline surveys, impact prediction, mitigation measures, and report preparation, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Environmental Management Systems (EMS): Develop, implement, and maintain EMSs in accordance with ISO 14001 or similar standards, ensuring consistent and effective environmental performance.
  • Permitting & Compliance: Secure necessary environmental permits and licenses, ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant UK legislation (e.g., Environmental Permitting Regulations, Habitats Regulations, Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations), and manage potential non-compliance incidents.

What we need:

  • CSCS card
  • BREEAM assessor qualification.
  • Knowledge of the environmental legislations and energy market
  • Driving license.
  • Chartered membership of a body e.g CIEEM.
  • 2 professional references
