We have a fantastic opportunity for a Plant Buying Manager to join our client's esteemed and independent garden Centre in Inverness, Scotland. If you have extensive horticultural knowledge and purchasing experience, this full-time, permanent position could be your perfect next step.
Responsibilities
As the Plant Buying Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and developing our client's thriving plant sales department. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a small team of dedicated staff
- Driving plant quality and sales and supporting related initiatives
- Providing face-to-face sales assistance and managing customer enquiries
- Collaborating with suppliers to ensure well-stocked departments that meet customer demand
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, merchandising, and pricing strategies
- Attending trade shows including foreign locations and purchasing large quantities of suitable plants.

- Strong horticultural knowledge and experience
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience in a garden centre or similar environment
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a team
- Ability to confidently buy large quantities of plants for multiple sites
- Energetic, creative, and positive attitude
- Strong IT and numeracy skills
- Full UK driving licence
