We have a fantastic opportunity for a Plant Buying Manager to join our client's esteemed and independent garden Centre in Inverness, Scotland. If you have extensive horticultural knowledge and purchasing experience, this full-time, permanent position could be your perfect next step.

Responsibilities

As the Plant Buying Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and developing our client's thriving plant sales department. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a small team of dedicated staff
  • Driving plant quality and sales and supporting related initiatives
  • Providing face-to-face sales assistance and managing customer enquiries
  • Collaborating with suppliers to ensure well-stocked departments that meet customer demand
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation, merchandising, and pricing strategies
  • Attending trade shows including foreign locations and purchasing large quantities of suitable plants.

  • Strong horticultural knowledge and experience
  • Proven supervisory or managerial experience in a garden centre or similar environment

  • Ability to confidently buy large quantities of plants for multiple sites
  • Energetic, creative, and positive attitude
  • Strong IT and numeracy skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relocation support is available.

This role is ideal for someone currently holding a Plant Buyer / Manager position or a similar role, ready to advance their career.
