Corrie Recruitment are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our client in Inverness on a permanent basis.

The candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously planned and controlled. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  • Conduct regular cost analyses and provide reports on financial performance to project managers.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project requirements and develop accurate cost forecasts.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to construction costs.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control practices and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools for estimating and budgeting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if relevant experience can be demonstrated.
