Details:

Our client is looking to appoint a Hire Controller on a full time, permanent basis to join their team in Inverness.

This is a varied customer facing role and duties include:

  • Responsible for initiation and completion of hire contracts in a timely manner.
  • Advising customers promptly of any damage charges etc incurred to hire plant and notifying the workshop to complete the repair efficiently to charge accordingly.
  • Advise customers on availability of hire equipment requested.
  • Assist engineering department with administration.
  • Arrange the dispatch of hires.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Compliance in accordance with the company quality assurance procedures.
  • Provide direct support to all levels of staff towards maintaining the highest level of customer service.
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy and organised.
  • Provide support on the stock and system audit programme including performance reports and exception reporting.
  • Assist in the provision of a comprehensive clerical and logistics service within the Department to achieve timely, accurate information and high-quality output.
  • Liaise with the departmental manager in procuring given tasks and compliance with departmental procedures to meet objectives including scheduling and costing.
  • Assist at other depots if required.

Person Specification

  • Good customer service skills, numeracy and literacy skills, generally at National grade level.
  • IT literacy and basic familiarity with computer packages, e.g. Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work under time pressures and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond positively to new challenges and to demonstrate flexibility to achieve completion of tasks.
  • Sound organizational and administrative skills, including managing time effectively.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and deal confidently with people with clear and effective communication skills both verbally and written.
