Eden Scott is delighted to be partnering with ANM Group, to recruit an experienced professional for the position of Maintenance Supervisor.
Developed in 1990, Thainstone Auction Centre is the largest purpose-built auction centre in Scotland and its facilities are used for the sale of livestock, motor vehicles, machinery plant and equipment, events and Sunday Market. It is the main destination for the rural sector in NE Scotland, and the high concentration of farmers and footfall has meant that several businesses involved in the sector have chosen to rent permanent retail units and we have long standing tenancies. Thainstone Centre and grounds extends to c 40 acres.
The role is based at Thainstone Centre, Thainstone, Inverurie, but also covering other Group sites/properties such as Caithness, Elgin, and Dornoch occasionally when required.
This new role has been created to streamline property operations, ensure regular maintenance and preventive measures are implemented right across our sites to extend the life span of buildings and equipment, reduce the risk of costly breakdowns and implement sustainable and energy-efficient practices.
Main Duties:
- Manage the maintenance team.
- Ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained, operational, and meet the required regulation.
- Document facilities processes and procedures.
- Monitor PPM requirements, negotiate tenders for work, and oversee work with contractors.
- Inspect buildings and structures to determine the need for maintenance, repairs or renovations.
- Monitor work assigned to workers and contractors is completed in a satisfactory manner.
- Use performance management tools and recommend agreeable service levels and ways to improve.
- Ensure quick response to emergencies and breakdowns that arise and deal with them appropriately.
- Hands on when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as a maintenance or site supervisor
- Experienced in appointing and managing contractors, well-versed in technical operations and maintenance best practices
- Experienced in the management of staff
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Organised with the ability to manage and lead projects and teams
- Good attention to detail and customer service skills
- Proactive with the ability to manage a varied workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft IT packages
- Contactable outwith hours to handle any emergency situations that may arise.
