We are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Finance team at our clients Ipswich head office. This role involves assisting in the smooth operation of the accounts department, maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, and supporting various accounting functions.
Day-to-day of the role:- Prepare daily sales and orders reports.
- Enter and reconcile timesheets to ERP systems.
- Update the cashbook and perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Allocate cash received to customer accounts and chase overdue invoices.
- Report on accounts receivable aging and overdue payments.
- Conduct cash flow reporting and manage weekly BACS payment runs.
- Handle bank payments for foreign and sundry suppliers and inter-account currency transfers.
- Process employee expenses and reconcile credit card statements.
- Prepare and file VAT returns, perform freight cost analysis, and manage accruals and prepayments.
- Update service contract files and post deferred income releases.
- Complete tasks identified in the month-end checklist, including detailed reporting on warranties and overheads.
- Provide cover for the Accounts Payable Assistant and support external audits.
- Prepare Letters of Credit and other reconciliations and reports as required.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and subtotals.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in work quality, with the ability to self-verify accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks based on deadlines.
- Experience in a busy accounts department, covering multiple accounting functions.
- Proven track record of completing work to deadlines, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- AAT qualification or similar.
