MacKenzie King are delighted to be working exclusively with a large, ambitious organisation in Ipswich in the recruitment of a Financial Controller. We are looking for an individual to lead the Group’s finance function and to provide leadership to the finance team. You will be responsible for the Group’s day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, cashbook, and treasury.

  • Oversee the weekly working capital reporting
  • Deliver on the month-end reporting process, ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of monthly results.
  • Prepare consolidated monthly management accounts, including debtors and cash-flow reporting, and provide ad-hoc financial reports to support business needs.
  • Lead the production of all stakeholder reporting.
  • Oversee the Group’s annual audit process, acting as the primary contact for external audit teams.
  • Own the forecasting and budgeting process, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cashflow.
  • Seek continuous improvement to processes and system.

To succeed in the role, you will be or have:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
  • Experience in consolidation and group reporting.
  • Strong background in financial reporting processes, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with the ability to lead a team, chair meetings, and oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple workloads and work with external contractors effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of management and influence decisions.
