MacKenzie King are recruiting a Project Accountant to join a local organisation, based in Ipswich. As a Project Accountant you will be accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, looking into variances, checking outgoing expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to clients to ensure payments are collected on time and coded to the correct projects. You must be a strong communicator to develop robust working relationships with the finance team and wider organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain project reports
  • Manage all accounting related functions for assigned projects
  • Supporting the project teams in producing their financial outturns
  • Manage invoices, payments, and compliance for assigned projects
  • Have an understanding of compliance requirements for assigned projects
  • Creating bespoke financial reports
  • Develop financial systems along with IT support to make processes more user friendly
  • Job cost report modification
  • Ensuring robust financial reporting across projects
  • Preparing grant claims to ensure income and cashflow is managed

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience of management accounting and reporting together with variance analysis
  • Implementing and maintaining a good internal control environment
  • Experience working with large volumes of data
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
