NXTGEN is recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a thriving and dynamic finance team. Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Accounts Assistant, you'll play a pivotal role in the team, undertaking tasks such as:

  • Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Processing BACS payments and uploading them to the banking system for authorisation.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Managing cash allocations, ensuring payments are correctly recorded and reconciled.
  • Handling credit control tasks, including monitoring outstanding accounts and collections.
  • Assisting with ledger management, processing invoices and credits for both sales and purchases.
  • Resolving customer queries and managing requests for invoices or payment processing over the phone.
  • Reconciling invoices and credits, ensuring all records are accurate and discrepancies are identified.
  • Providing general administrative support and tackling ad hoc tasks within the finance team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a finance department, such as in accounts assistance or bookkeeping roles.
  • AAT qualification (or actively working towards one).
  • A strong working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical way of working.
  • Strong communication skills to handle both internal and customer interactions.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment.
