My client is a well-established IFA practice with offices in Norfolk and Suffolk, offering bespoke advice to both corporate and private clients, this role will be based in their attractive office in central Ipswich.

The purpose of the role is to provide hybrid support to my clients designated Team Leader placed in both client service support and paraplanning support, especially where more technical tasks need assistance in their delivery. (e.g. new and existing client cashflow preparations, technical calculations, research & analysis) so this can be delivered in an accurate, timely & responsive manner based on the demands of the team to help deliver our high quality client advice and service. The role would be expected to help with more traditional paraplanning (report-writing) and customer services functions on an ad-hoc basis, to help cover any needs within the current team structures.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all compliance standards are adhered to in all work and deadlines are met.
  • Prioritise and manage your own workload throughout the day.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection (GDPR) at all times.
  • Participation in the design, improvement and implementation of new processes/ways of working

Client Services Support

  • Provide day-to-day technical administrative support and liaison with Wealth Managers, including set up of policies and Trusts, providing documentation required to enable changes to income/withdrawals, premiums and funds, preparing meeting packs, processing client changes of details, sending and processing letters of authority, trading client funds and other investments as recommended by Wealth Manager, etc.
  • Liaise with Paraplanner Team to ensure that client reports are issued on time.
  • Accurately update client information, ensure all administrative work is diarised and actioned in Intelliflo Office (iO).
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with providers and escalate any issues to line manager when assistance is required.

Paraplanning

  • Fund research and analysis, both at client level and company level, with accurate recording and follow up where necessary.
  • Technical product research and solution provision.
  • Proficient use of cashflow modelling systems/techniques
  • Preparation of initial financial plan and solutions to meet specific client goals.
  • Maintenance and development of compliant client recommendation report/letter suite.
  • Consulting with the Wealth Manager on client investment, pension, and tax planning and making suggestions to the Wealth Manager and confirming proposed actions to the client.
  • Effective time and caseload management.
  • Preparation of compliant suitability reports.
  • Liaise with Paraplanner Team to ensure that client reports are issued on time.
  • Providing technical support to the Wealth Managers and other team members.
  • Answering technical client queries.
  • Accurate system updating on Intelligent Office.
  • Administration through wrap platforms utilized by the company and other providers as required.
  • Keep up to date with technical and legislative changes.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required compensatory to the role and as directed by your line manager.

Skills & Experience Required

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to adjust to meet target audience needs.

Self-motivated, accountable and committed with excellent team player skills.

Ability to work alone with minimum supervision, whilst being within a team and proactively contributing to it (ideas, suggestions).

Strong organisational skills with flexibility to meet different tasks, requirements and expectations whilst remaining calm, and be able to prioritise accordingly whilst meeting deadlines.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to problem solve using various techniques.

Ability to analyse and comment on various Tax Planning scenarios such as Lifetime Allowance and Annual Allowance.

Excellent IT skills particularly using Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, & Outlook.

Previous experience of Microsoft Teams and Intelligent Office would be advantageous.

Previous experience in providing both paraplanning and Client administration within an IFA environment.

Qualifications

GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or working towards qualification
