The client is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead the function in the development of new packaging production machines. This is an exciting opportunity to join a young business as they launch their innovative paper bottle and other products worldwide
Key Activities:
* Lead commissioning activities of new repeat build machines through both FAT in the UK and SAT internationally.
* Driving continuous improvement through feedback to mechanical, electrical and controls engineering disciplines.
* Managing upgrade installation & validation exercises on existing machines.
* Assist in machine relocation planning.
* Recording machine Overall Equipment Effectiveness and commissioning snag lists.
* Lead commissioning activities of NPD projects.
* Contribute to all associated documentation including: Machine manuals, Qualification protocols, SOP's and future machine URS documentation.
* Ownership of machine settings logs and changes.
* Work closely with controls engineers on machine analytics.
Skills & Qualifications
* The candidate should have an excellent all round electromechanical understanding.
* 4 years minimum experience in commissioning equipment, ideally internationally.
* The candidate should come from a key discipline including electrical, mechanical or controls engineering.
* Understanding of PLC's (able to write or modify structured text code advantageous).
* Ability to read electrical and pneumatic circuit diagrams.
* knowledge of different motor drive technologies such as servo, dc, Stepper and AC motors.
* Good general computer skills
* Strong cause-effect analytical abilities.
* Excellent communication skills.
Working Hours
9am-5pm, however will require flexibility and work additional hours especially during machine installations.
Salary
Subject to negotiation however expectation is in region of 35-40k

25 days holiday plus bank holidays
