Our client are a dynamic and growing established freight forwarding agent expanding into Ipswich, specializing in container transport and are committed to delivering reliable and efficient services to our clients. We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Container Driver to join our team on a self-employed basis.
Job Title:Class 1 Container Driver (Self-Employed)
Location: Ipswich, UK
Salary: Hourly rate dependent on experience (8 hours guaranteed pay per day, Monday to Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport containers to and from ports, warehouses, and other locations.
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time and in line with company standards.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
- Experience in container driving is preferred, but not essential.
- Possession of port cards and relevant training is a plus, but not mandatorytraining can be provided.
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and port operations.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with driving regulations.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills.
