Seed Sales Specialist

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Seed Sales Specialist to join a dynamic team. This role involves promoting and selling a range of seed, silage, and fertiliser products, ensuring sales and margin targets are met. This role will involve working 2-3 days out on the road and 2 days in the office/home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for liaising with merchants and agents, conducting farm calls, and providing training and support to optimise sales.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Promote and sell the company’s range of products to achieve maximum sales.
  • Liaise and support merchants and agents through farm calling and field visits.
  • Conduct sales and product training/presentations for employees, merchants, farming groups, and agents.
  • Stay updated with market information and trends related to the company’s products and communicate these effectively.
  • Generate, update, and circulate price lists and provide prices/quotations as needed.
  • Manage, train, and motivate Trainee Seed Specialists.
  • Identify and source new products and optimise marketing opportunities.
  • Assist in resolving complaints efficiently and organise company PR events.
  • Contribute to the production of company brochures, advertising, and marketing initiatives.
  • Assist with company variety trials and work closely with the administration department to provide efficient service to customers.
  • Ensure accurate and prompt recording of sales contracts and maintain manual/computerised records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the company’s information and ensure compliance with the company’s terms and conditions of sale.
  • Control customer credit in accordance with the company’s credit policy and promote a professional company image.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the agriculture or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of seed, silage, and fertiliser products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with merchants, agents, and internal teams.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and presentations effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate sales records and managing contracts.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies.
