MacKenzie King are recruiting for a multi award winning business located in the centre of Ipswich. The successful Senior Credit Control candidate will be someone with the drive to manage on their own ledger while also being a leader of a small team of Credit Controllers acting as a link between the team and management. This role calls for a Senior Credit Controller who has at least 3 years of experience in a previous credit control position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct management of cohort of Credit Controllers
  • Point of escalation for client/team queries
  • Providing training and advice as and when required
  • Responsible for meeting targets in monthly receivables and keeping bad debt to a minimum
  • Resolve invoice issues in a timely manner liaising with client, sales and other departments as required
  • Authorising credit notes
  • Taking control of designated customer accounts as directed by the Credit Control Manager
  • Proactively ensure timely collection of invoices & where applicable debt in line with credit terms
  • Report promptly any potential problem accounts or bad debt to Credit Control Manager
  • Hold regular debt review meetings with key clients
  • Maintain accurate records of communication with customers and status of debt
  • Allocating of credit notes or unallocated payments on the ledger as required
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required by the business

Essential Excpereince

  • 3 years + experience in Credit Control
  • Previous experience in a credit control or senior credit control position
  • Experience of dealing with a large customer base
  • Proactive and enthusiastic approach with good team working and communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work to deadlines and flexible where required by the business.
  • Strong Analytic and numeric skills
  • Experience of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Experience of Sage Intacct desirable but not essential
