We are recruiting on behalf of a leading public sector client based in Suffolk for a Compliance & Building Safety Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide a comprehensive, high-quality service focused on the maintenance and improvement of housing stock and local environment, with a specific emphasis on managing compliance and building safety matters.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure and report on compliance with UK Compliance Standards across all housing stock.
  • Coordinate with teams and stakeholders to ensure all compliance inspections and rectifications are carried out efficiently.
  • Achieve 100% access to homes for compliance purposes, coordinating with Customer Liaison and Tenancy Services Officers.
  • Manage a team of surveying and technical officers, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Lead project teams for specific projects, ensuring a coordinated approach to maintenance and work allocation.
  • Oversee and undertake feasibility studies, prepare estimates, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation for works on Council properties.
  • Manage contracts, including chairing meetings, monitoring quality, progress, costs, and safety.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Building services related degree or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., MCIOB, MRICS).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of Fire Safety legislation and IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
  • Demonstrable experience in H&S compliance across all M&E fields and risk management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications including databases and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiating skills.
