Global logistics company with over 30 years in the industry, based in Ipswich who are one of the UKs largest providers of logistics services are expanding their team and are looking for an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to handle shipments from start to finish.

The company offer excellent career progression and training, you will also be able to learn to becomes a specialist customs broker.

We are looking for someone who has a similar skills set, customs or from a shipping background.

The Role

Daily communication with clients from shipping stage to final delivery

Day to day import ocean freight operations

Import Customs processes and formalities

Building and maintaining client relations for continued business with customers

Arranging final mile delivery requirements with our third-party suppliers, and in-house Transport, Fulfilment and Warehousing teams

Supporting customers with general customs advice

Identifying clients who will benefit from using Compass (online tracking portal)

Creation of customs and import ocean documents

Working with HMRC and other customs authorities

Skills

Performing Import Customs clearances (IPR, Bonded, Home-Use)

Competence in handling/submitting additional customs documentation, certificates or licences as required by regulatory bodies such as Port Health.

Knowledge of Tariffs/Preferential Trade Agreements

Understanding of AEO Procedures

Good understanding of Bills of Lading

General Customs Compliance

Understanding of Inco Terms
