Tennial Personnel is hiring a PCB Layout Engineer to join our client’s innovative team in Ipswich. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent role (permanent after a successful 12 week qualifying period), working Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a leading company specialising in the design, development, and manufacture of cutting-edge electronic solutions. The role focuses on projects across diverse industries, with an emphasis on microcontroller-based embedded electronics.Your Role:As a PCB Layout Engineer, you’ll be an integral member of the development team, responsible for creating and optimizing PCB designs that meet customer needs and industry standards.Key Responsibilities:Design high-quality PCB layouts using tools like Altium Designer.Work on single-layer, multi-layer, and flex PCB designs.Convert electrical schematics into efficient PCB layouts.Optimise component placement and routing for performance, manufacturability, and testability.Ensure compliance with EMC standards and support manufacturability.Generate and manage design documentation, including Gerber files and BOMs.Support prototype testing and troubleshoot as needed.Collaborate with the design and firmware teams for seamless hardware-software integration.Manage project timelines to meet deadlines and milestones.Provide technical support and communicate directly with customers to understand their requirements.Contribute to improving PCB design processes continuously.What’s in It for You?Competitive salary based on experience.Work in a dynamic and innovative environment.Opportunities for career development and progression.Company pension benefits.Skills:Essential Skills & Qualifications:• Proven experience in PCB layout design, including single-layer, double-layer, and multi-layer PCBs.• Strong knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and EMC compliance principles.• Experience with both surface-mount and through-hole components.• Ability to manage complex projects with multiple deliverables.• Excellent customer-facing and interpersonal skills.Desirable Skills:• Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.• Experience in Flex PCB designs.• Knowledge of signal integrity and power distribution best practices.• Previous experience in embedded electronics is an advantage.Qualifications:Key Attributes:• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.• Ability to work independently and manage demanding projects.Keywords:ElectronicsLayout EngineerPCB
