The OSP Group are looking for an experienced Electronics PCB Layout Engineer to join our electrical manufacturing client based in Ipswich, Suffolk.
The ideal candidate will have have a strong electrical PCB manufacturing background and be looking for a position where they can grow, be valued and add value to the already successful team.
Key responsibilities:
- Design high-quality PCB layouts using tools such as Altium Designer.
- Work on multi-layer, single-layer, and flex PCB designs.
- Convert electrical schematics into optimized PCB layouts.
- Optimize component placement and routing for performance, manufacturability, and testability.
- Ensure PCB designs comply with EMC standards and support manufacturability.
- Generate and manage design documentation, including Gerber files and BOMs.
- Support prototype testing and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with design and firmware teams to ensure smooth hardware-software integration.
- Manage project timelines to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Provide technical support and interact directly with customers to understand their requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of PCB design processes.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in PCB layout design (single-layer, double-layer, multi-layer PCBs).
- Strong knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and EMC compliance principles.
- Experience with both surface-mount and through-hole components.
- Ability to manage complex projects with multiple deliverables.
- Excellent customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills
- Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Experience with Flex PCB designs.
- Knowledge of signal integrity and power distribution best practices.
- Previous experience in embedded electronics is an advantage.

30,000 - 45,000
