FCM Supervisor

Full Time, Temporary (Maternity Cover)

We have an exciting opportunity for a FCM (Full Container Mishandling) Supervisor to join our Claims team in Ipswich.

The successful candidate will assist in managing the workload and performance of the FCM team and identify their training needs. They will handle a range of FCM files from beginning to end and will liaise with Head Office, other agents and departments, customers and insurers to do so. They will answer questions on FCM cases from external and internal parties. They will manage the department in the absence of the manager and when otherwise required.

How you will help us and what you can expect

  • Supervise the workload and performance of the FCM team to identify the training needs of the FCM team and how to deliver this training
  • To handle FCM files which may include devan / revan and recoveries from beginning to end
  • To record all FCM files accurately in various UK and GVA systems and spreadsheets
  • To ensure all files are handled correctly to avoid incorrect action or payment of a claim
  • To liaise with Head Office, other MSC agents, other UK departments, customer and insurers
  • To recover liability amounts from third parties whenever possible
  • To communicate and explain FCM issues to other members of staff, the claims team and customers.
  • To assist the manager wherever possible and to manage the department when required
  • To review procedures and ensure the workflow follows the administrative processes as dictated by MSC Geneva and Internal Quality procedures
