Financial & Operations Officer

North Essex

Salary - £79,000 DOE

Permanent/Full Time

Monday to Friday (9am - 5pm)

Hybrid role (2 days in office, 3 days home)

As a Financial & Operations Officer, you will be leading the operational and business vision, with a primary focus on meeting strategic milestones through the use of relevant KPIs. You will also be responsible for monitoring the cashflow, financial planning, leading all operational functions and working to ensure that all business functions including Finance, HR, Governance & Compliance, Estates and IT are run efficiently daily.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and maintaining all medium/long-term financial plans for the business.
  • Contributing to the delivery of the business plan for the growth of the business.
  • Producing long term financial plans and forecasts aligned with strategic planning.
  • Working with project managers, to ensure the conversion process is managed accurately (in a timely manner).
  • Working under the guidance of the CEO in order to meet the challenge and achieve the best results.
  • Creating and maintaining excellent working relationships and ensuring that effective communication is maintained.
  • You will ensure that all forms and returns required by all departments are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Supporting with the preparation of consolidated financial statements, in accordance with the audit timetable.
  • Working closely with external auditors, meeting reporting obligations.
  • You will be taking part in the implementation of compliance with GDPR requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a secure overview of the management of all financial issues.
  • Keeping key personnel up-to-date with the current developments and changes in any finance matters/changes.
  • Participating in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities.
  • Planning and implementing growth strategies in relation to finance and operations.
  • Lead and support teams, during any kind of change within the business.
  • Developing an exemplary level of trust with colleagues and other stakeholders, ensuring that all forms of communication are respectful and of the highest professional level.

Your Background & Skill:

  • ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent accountancy qualification is essential.
  • Experience of working in the educational sector as a Finance Manager/Operations Manager is desirable.
  • Experience of managing business operations and leading teams across multiple sites.
  • You will have leadership qualities with the ability to manage performance and set targets.
  • Have the ability to develop and sustain strong working relationships with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hold excellent team-building skills and an inclusive management style.
  • You will be open to new ideas and will explore them.
