We are working on behalf of a friendly, well-established haulage company based on the outskirts of Ipswich who are looking for a detail orientated and experienced Finance Manager with freight industry experience to join their finance team!

With over 40 years in the industry, and a passion for ensuring responsibility to the environment, our client is a leading provider in distribution, container transport, hazardous cargo, and flat trailer services.

The ideal candidate will be hardworking, motivated and possess an excellent eye for detail. Full training will be given on their in-house systems and processes.

Duties within the role will include:

  • Preparation of Management accounts
  • Bank account reconciliation
  • Weekly payroll
  • Preparation of VAT Returns
  • Preparation of Year End Accounts and assisting with the year-end statutory audit
  • Management of the wider Finance Team
  • Dealing with supplier invoices for payment
  • Liaising with Directors and external Accountant on commercial/strategic matters
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure timely reports are received
  • Cashflow forecasts
  • Cost saving/ Strategic reviews for the business
