    We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting customs functions, ensuring smooth operations within our logistics and supply chain processes. This position requires strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, while also possessing a solid understanding of sales management and transportation management systems.

    Duties

    • To arrange for all clearances in a timely and effective manner maintaining and excellent clearance service and ensuring that all third party contractors are closely monitored.
    • To arrange for container release and PIN with carriers in a timely and effective manner and to ensure that all monies are collected (where necessary) prior to cargo release.
    • To make recommendations to the CSV Manager for any service improvements or further business expansion opportunities and to highlight any service failings by third party contractors.
    • To ensure that any questions/queries arising from all global internal colleagues or customers are responded to effectively and in a timely manner.
    • To be update to date with custom regulations and be able to help train other staff in customs clearances.

    Qualifications /Experience

    • Recent customs experience within the shipping and/or freight forwarding industry of at least 1 year
    • Good Analytical, numerical and attention to detail skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Able to work as part of a close team and independently as required
    • Be able to problem solve and work under pressure.
