Your new companyWe have an exciting opportunity to join a niche manufacturing business who design, engineer and produce high-end and bespoke finishings for the building industry. You will lead the production, engineering and design teams ensuring all orders are fulfilled and to the highest quality standards.Your new roleAs the head of manufacturing you will lead, mentor and develop a high-performing production and engineering team by developing and maintaining a culture of continuous learning and innovation, supporting and developing the workforce and implementing a robust succession plan. You will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, enabling you to develop and implement improvement strategies, including addressing and resolving any production bottlenecks. You will align production and engineering goals, focussing on cost efficiency, innovation and sustainability. You will champion lean manufacturing, six sigma/5s and other continuous improvement methodologies and monitor/manage KPI's across productivity, quality and cost.You will lead and inspire a quality culture across the business by supporting quality processes across product development, production, supplier inspections and any customer returns and ensuring compliance within industry standards, safety regulations and relevant quality certifications.You will manage budgets for production and engineering, including headcount, equipment and materials, ensuring cost-effective solutions. You will, when required, prepare capital expenditure for machinery purchases, including maintenance and service contracts.What you'll need to succeedDegree-qualified or similar, with proven experience in a leadership role (from a manufacturing background), you will have an in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles and project management. You will have experience and expertise in lean manufacturing, six sigma and process optimisation. Knowledge of ERP systems, production planning tools and CAD software would be desirable. You will have strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a track record in strategy development and execution.
