Attwood Perks is proud to be partnering with a highly reputable business in Ipswich who are going through a significant phase of technology development hence are now looking to add a forward-thinking and pragmatic IT Systems Engineer to their team on a permanent basis.
As an IT Systems Engineer in this welcoming and culture-lead organisation, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT infrastructure that supports our business operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of their systems, networks, and cloud services.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a passion for technology and a strong understanding of IT infrastructure components.

The Day-to-Day:
- Responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s cloud-based IT systems.
- Design, deploy, and manage IT infrastructure solutions including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
- Identify when services should migrate to the cloud, improving the current service availability, performance and user experience.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address infrastructure needs and support business initiatives.
- Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure processes, configurations, and procedures.
- Implement and manage security measures to protect data, systems, and networks from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our infrastructure.
- IT Project Management - leading or assisting with a broad mix of technology projects.
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team.
You will bring:
- Experience with cloud platforms - Azure.
- Ideally solid of knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
- Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, MCSE, Azure, ITIL etc.. are a plus but not essential.
- A passion for all things tech.
- Ability to work proactively without supervision.
- Approachable and personable in nature.
- Determination to exceed expectation.
