Health & Safety Advisor

Full time, Temporary (12 months), Based at our Ipswich HQ with national travel required

Has this included directing and advising operational and support personnel?

Do you have the confidence to work independently in operational environments?

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our Risk and Compliance team.

How you will help us and what you can expect

  • Support the Health and Safety Manager in promoting a positive health and safety culture whilst ensuring compliance.
  • Providing advice, guidance and coaching of employees at all levels on health and safety compliance.
  • You will lead the implementation of continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Providing appropriate health and safety support and guidance to the operational management team.
  • Auditing and inspection of contractors to maintain our contractor compliance matrix.
  • Assisting our depots and satellite offices with risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Skills and experience you'll bring to us

With an appropriate professional qualification and membership, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A good depth of operational health and safety knowledge across a range of topics.
  • Pragmatic approach to day to day health and safety challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on the information available.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the business.
  • A high level of Microsoft Office knowledge.
