- Health and Safety Manager will lead the development of a proactive health and safety culture
- Promote and sustain measures to improve health and safety standards, ensuring full compliance with OHSAS 18001, health and safety legislation, and Minimum Safety Standards (MSS).
- Conduct proactive site audits to address issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Implement and manage an induction system
- Oversee thorough investigations of accidents and incidents
- Develop and maintain a Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan, ensuring it is prepared, approved, and regularly updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Introduce innovative initiatives to improve safety standards and encourage safe working practices.
- Assist with preconstruction activities - tenders and Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs),
- Facilitate discussions on health and safety issues, resolving conflicts to ensure optimal outcomes for the project.
- Establish and monitor a schedule of weekly health and safety inspections involving operational staff, senior management, and support teams.
- Proven track record as a Health and Safety Manager on major infrastructure projects.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification is essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Safety training including Fire, Confined Spaces, First Aid, COSHH, HSG 47
