Who are Ambient Support?

Ambient Support, a registered UK charity with over 25 years' experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health needs and people with learning disabilities.

Our Peppercorn House service has 23 self-contained one bed apartments arranged over three floors, offered to over 60's who wish to live an independent life but may require some additional care and support at times.

We are situated in the Stoke area of Ipswich, within easy reach of the transport facilities and wide range of facilities in central Ipswich.

The role of our Care Assistant:

* Providing social and emotional support, either at home and/or in their local community

* Supporting residents with their personal care including personal hygiene needs if required.

* Building/maintaining relationship with friends and family of our residents

Skills and attributes of our Care Assistant:

  • Experience of supporting adults in a care setting or in the community.
  • An awareness and understanding of high-quality home care.
  • Good communication skills, patience, and flexibility.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support.
  • A flexible working pattern and able to do shift work.
  • Alternate weekend working pattern.
  • Experience is desirable, however, is not essential, as we offer full training for all our Care Staff.
