Cooper Lomaz are delighted to be working with a regional business to source a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join their team.

The Role:As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in providing 3rd-line support for a variety of technical issues across hardware, software, and network infrastructure. You'll act as the final escalation point for complex technical problems, working closely with other teams to deliver top-tier solutions and ensure system stability.

You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving IT systems, troubleshooting advanced technical issues, and contributing to key projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformations. This role provides an opportunity to demonstrate your technical expertise and drive innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 3rd-line support for a wide range of technical issues, including infrastructure, servers, storage, and networking.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve escalated support tickets efficiently and effectively.
  • Work on IT infrastructure projects, such as migrations, upgrades, and system optimisations.
  • Maintain and configure Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure.
  • Support virtualised environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Develop and document technical procedures and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior support engineers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure system uptime and operational efficiency.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a 3rd-line support role or similar senior technical position.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Proficient in networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and routing protocols.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
