Our client, a respected organisation in the Commercial Insurance sector, is looking for an Underwriter to join their growing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to manage key Delegated Authorities (DAs), ensuring profitability, income, and regulatory compliance.

You'll be part of a collaborative team, using your expertise to drive financial results, and building strong internal and external relationships. Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite Commercial Business profitably and accurately
  • Maintain and develop Business Relationships with your Brokers
  • Effectively implement Underwriting controls and service levels
  • Peer coaching and Referral support
  • Manage profitability and top-line growth through portfolio underwriting for Delegated Authorities (DAs)
  • Monitor DA performance, implementing Profit Improvement Plans (PIPs) to ensure profitability and manage risk
  • Ensure case management meets service level targets while maintaining governance and compliance
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support business growth
  • Pursue personal development to enhance skills and knowledge

As a Commercial Underwriter, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in underwriting within your Delegated Authority, along with a strong understanding of the insurance market and relevant legislation
  • Experience working with Real Estate or Casualty risks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Practical, well-reasoned decision-making abilities
  • Commitment to advancing your professional development, including CII studies
