Key Responsibilities:
- Daily communication with clients from booking stage to final delivery including close cooperation with the team to understand requirements and to provide second to none logistics solutions
- Expertly handling day to day import ocean freight operations
- Import Customs processes and formalities
- Building and maintaining client relations for continued business with customers
- Confirming delivery requirements and arranging with the Transport Team
- Supporting customers with general customs advice
- Identifying clients who will benefit from using Compass (online tracking portal)
- Creation of customs and import ocean documents
- Working with HMRC and other customs authorities
Experience / Skills Required:
- Current experience in customs clearances and knowledge of will give any applicant an advantage
- Performing Import Customs clearances
- Competence in handling/submitting additional customs documentation, certificates, or licences
- Knowledge of Tariffs
- Bonded customs, Special/Simplified Customs Procedures
- Understanding of AEO Procedures
- General Customs Compliance
- Understanding of Inco Terms
- Additional declarations for specific destinations and origins
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills
