Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead or assist and manage multi-disciplinary external design teams.
- Attending client meetings, site meetings and subcontractor meetings where required.
- Basic experience in the leisure, commercial, education and mixed-use markets, designing to both traditional and modern methods of construction.
- Review all design deliverables, including specialist supplier elements and interfaces to established that they are within budget, are fully coordinated and are buildable.
- Coordinate project team comments and resolve any design related construction queries with the design team.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations and the planning process.
- Basic understanding of the Building Safety Act.
- Ability to interpret Employers Requirements and other documents and assisting with the development of Contractors Proposal.
- An understanding of the design and risk management processes.
- Produce or assist with design programmes/controls for timely information release to procurement and construction delivery teams.
- Commercial awareness and value engineering to increase value to clients and drive down capital costs.
- Abide by and help ensure conformity to all business policies and processes.
- Assist and contribute to assigned/delegated tasks in a professional manner.
The Successful CandidateWill:
- Have a Degree, HND or similar qualification in a construction discipline or currently working through a qualification.
- Have construction experience; design experience is desirable.
- Be articulate and with the skills to produce clear and concise proposals.
- Have good IT skills.
- Work independently and manage own workload.
- Be a good team player working with internal and external teams.
- Have excellent inter-personal skills are essential.
