This is a unique chance to make a significant impact, driving operational excellence and business growth in a dynamic and innovative environment.The successful Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the company. Your strategic insights and leadership will directly contribute to achieving business objectives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

To be considered for this role you will need to have:

- A minimum of five years in a senior operations role within the energy or utilities sector.

- Proven experience as an Authorising Engineer/Technical Authority in electrical safe systems of work.

- You will need, full SAP (Senior Authorised Person) status with up-to-date switching accreditation (up to 33kV, ideally 132kV).

- Extensive knowledge of UK legislation, electrical safety regulations, and compliance frameworks.- Demonstrated leadership in managing operational teams and driving performance improvements.- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and risk management skills.This role places a strong emphasis on safety and compliance. You will act as the Principal Duty Holder/Authorising Engineer, ensuring that electrical safe systems of work are maintained and enhanced in line with UK legislation and industry regulations.You will be expected to oversee the Major Projects, Projects, and Maintenance divisions, ensuring all projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual obligations. Your leadership will drive operational performance and uphold the company’s reputation for excellence.Experience in Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing operations team. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide career development opportunities, ensuring your team’s skills and expertise continue to grow. You will also be tasked with- Leading and managing the operations team to achieve business objectives.- Developing and implementing KPIs for operational efficiency.- Acting as the Principal Duty Holder/Authorising Engineer for electrical safety systems.- Ensuring compliance with UK legislation and industry regulations.- Overseeing audits and compliance checks, striving for 100% positive audit results.- Collaborating with the Divisional Director to set and drive operational safety and performance standards.- Ensuring financial objectives within the annual budget are met.- The provision of leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities for operations staff.
