Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Site Manager, based in Ipswich, to work on floodbank repairs, earthworks and rock placements.
The ideal candidate for this role would have previous experience in overlooking and managing on-site activities of a similar nature. They also would hold strong leadership skills on civil engineering projects.
Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring that earthworks, floodbank repairs, and rock placement activities are carried out in accordance with the project plan, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Ensure full compliance with all health and safety legislation on site, conducting regular risk assessments, toolbox talks, and promoting a safety-first culture.
Work closely with the Project Manager and planning teams to create detailed work schedules and ensure deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards.
Allocate and manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure the smooth progression of works. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Monitor the quality of all earthworks, floodbank repairs, and rock placement to ensure that all works meet the project specifications and industry standards.
Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring that the works are delivered within budget.
Highlight any potential cost variations and provide solutions.
Identify and address any technical or operational issues that may arise on site, ensuring minimum disruption to the project timeline.
Ensure all works adhere to environmental protection guidelines, particularly around sensitive floodbank and watercourse areas.
Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, risk assessments, health and safety reports, and as-built records. Ensure all project documentation is up to date.

Experience/Qualifications:

SMSTS qualified.
Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other relevant fields.
Proven experience working on earthworks, floodbank repairs and rock placement projects.
CSCS card (preferred).
First Aid at Work (preferred).
Health and Safety understanding.

This is a great opportunity to work on an earthworks project with subcontractors and collaborate on a month duration contract.
Day rates are negotiable and additional benefits will depend on the work status of candidates.
