Mechanical Engineer - Multi Skilled

Location: Ipswich, East Anglia

Salary: £40k - 60k (DOE)

Hours: 42.5 from 7:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday

Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Following the successful growth of EPPH, they are looking to increase the team further as their projects and contracts portfolio expands. The position will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. You must be commercially trained in a mechanically biassed discipline and have experience with working on various building services plants (inclusive of installation).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Building services installation
  • Building services maintenance
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs to building services installations
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics
  • Be able to read, understand and work from written and verbal instruction
  • Able to have a problem-solving approach, troubleshoot a job no matter its difficulties
  • Very good communicator and team player
  • To record work information as required for operation
  • Working closely with Contract and Project teams
  • Maintain vehicle condition and adhere to their procedures and health and safety
  • Flexibility may be required from time to time to meet their and their client’s requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience within the mechanical industry
  • Full clean manual UK driving licence
  • Ability to pass Enhanced DBS checks
  • Knowledge of products related to mechanical, electrical and construction trades, equipment use, maintenance, repair, install and operation
  • Knowledge of suppliers associated with the supply of materials and equipment
  • Knowledge of the repair and maintenance including functional elements of building services systems
  • Trained in a mechanical discipline to a Level 3 or above
  • Current commercial Gas qualifications - training will be provided
  • Plumbing & Heating NVQ qualification; F-Gas and other relevant electrical tickets desirable
  • Must be willing to commute and stay away when required (with notice)
