Spider is advertising on behalf of the UK's leading specialist in Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) who are looking for Production Manager to join their team in Rendlesham, Woodbridge on a full-time permanent basis!

About the role:

As the Production Manager, you will lead the front-line operations with a focus on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles. You will be responsible for driving the operational plan concerning health and safety, people management, cost control, quality assurance, and performance metrics.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the operational plan, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, performance metrics, and quality standards.
  • Manage all aspects of front-line operations in production and quality control.
  • Develop, implement, and refine production schedules and operational opportunities to optimise efficiency.
  • Foster a lean manufacturing culture by continuously improving front line activities, promoting best practises among the team.
  • Ensure diligent adherence to employee training protocols and maintain accurate training records.
  • Champion proactive change management initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Build and nurture effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with your team to identify production opportunities and regularly report progress to senior management and sales teams.
  • Provide coaching and performance management for direct reports, ensuring alignment with organisational culture while emphasising accountability.
  • Communicate effectively across the team and the broader business, facilitating seamless information flow.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across the organisation, for example ISO9001, Health and Safety and fire standards.
  • Champion succession planning and resilience building through ongoing training and leadership development initiatives.
  • Deliver on business KPIs, influencing relationships with senior management through regular updates and strategic discussions.

About you:

You will be an experienced Production Manager with at least two years of demonstrable production management experience ideally from within a lean environment. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will effectively engage with teams and stakeholders at all levels. You should have a recognised managerial qualification or time serviced in an operational role. Your background should include experience in HR and safety-related procedures, alongside a strong foundation in computer and office applications. Ideally, you will bring technical knowledge of injection moulding and sintering processes, with practical experience in lean manufacturing practises and ISO9001:2015 standards, but these are not essential. Successful candidates will possess essential skills such as strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and a proven track record in driving operational efficiencies while maintaining high-quality standards. Your ability to inspire and motivate teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills, will be critical to fostering a positive workplace culture.
