We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a dynamic team at our client's Ipswich office. They are looking for someone with relevant experience to become a key player in a thriving multi-disciplinary consultancy.
In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering a diverse range of structural engineering projects, working alongside a team of skilled professionals who share your passion for excellence. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead by example, providing mentorship and support to junior engineers while advancing your own career in a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing project management, conducting structural inspections, preparing calculations and design details, performing quality checks, attending project meetings, and preparing detailed reports.
To be considered, you must have:
- Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) status with a recognized professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE)
- A BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
- At least 5 years of post-graduate experience in Structural Engineering, with a solid design background
- Experience in design using Eurocodes and British Standards
- A strong understanding of civil design and construction principles
- Commercial awareness, including managing project timelines and budgets
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as TEDDS, SCIA, or similar
- Experience designing reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to deliver multiple projects
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with colleagues, clients, and the wider project team
- Experience in mentoring CAD Technicians and Engineers to ensure quality design outputs
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own transport
